An North American underdog story…
Tony Mamaluke, Little Guido and Tracy Smothers have all been part of the FBI over the years, albeit one wonders who is actually the Italian…
Not important seeing that pro wrestling fans used to come to see the likes of the FBI put on a tag team performance of a life time. These performers were straight shooters in the ring. Doing what they do – and that’s WRESTLE.
Their teaming was simply text book, straight shooting, gritty, hi technique grappling – everything a pro wrestling purist watches wrestling for. The Philadelphia show on April 28th may not be hosted inJapan, but watching these performers go full out will remind people of what it’s like to watch wrestling at its purest, as if sitting in an arena in the Orient.
Smothers is a veteran of the tag team wars, having wrestled in all major wrestling promotions over the past 20 years. Extreme Reunion could be the beginning of his swan song, ready to put on a wrestling clinic and give fans his very best in the crowning time of his career – beginning – and not ending – with April 28th.
Smothers, along with Guido and Mamaluke, are an Italian underdog story – a la Rocky. Philadelphia’s full blooded Italian underdog never giving up may see a new chapter in local and North American sports folklore- as these three very athletes are the embodiment of grit, hard work, in ring-prowess and not giving up against adversity.
Tag Team Gold is something that may have been forgotten over the years in the professional sports world…Now, perhaps, it’s time for these three ring generals to show everyone what tag team technical pro wrestling is all about …could it be time to crown and introduce a new Tag Team icon? Can it be done?
Just like the Philadelphia and North American Italian icon known as Rocky lit up Philadelphia and the USA, as he never laid down to any challenge, perhaps the Full Blooded Italians too will be coming out hungry, determined, with something more to prove, a decade later, and most significantly ready to redefine and set the world tag team championship world afire….hopefully, one more time.
We will all find out not far from those infamous iconic steps that we have come to know in American hero legend and folklore….in Philadelphia…beginning with April 28.
