Sabu is still suicidal, homicidal, and genocidal. Matt Hardy may just be crazy. Both of these men have battled personal demons, and have resurrected their careers in pro wrestling. Both Sabu and Matt Hardy are crowd favorites –but to different fan bases. However, over the last few events of Extreme Rising Matt Hardy has been tested by facing Jerry Lynn, Homicide, and even The Franchise Shane Douglas –in which Luke Hawx the leader of the new blood of pro wrestling shoved Hardy off the top rope abruptly ending the bout, as he would not be able to continue as he laid helpless at ringside being tended to by medical personnel.
Sabu on the other hand started off on the wrong foot back in April by not making the event, but came back two months later and showed the critics and doubters that he can still go taking on and beating both The Greek God Papadon and Devon Storm.
Both Sabu and Hardy are not in the Extreme Rising tournament for the title, but this match is a main event in its own. This is a match that can headline any wrestling event anywhere in the World. Sabu will do what he does and risk his body for the win. Hardy wants to prove to the extreme fans that he has what it takes to compete and be a top in Extreme Rising. Beating Douglas at “Remember November” would’ve been great for Hardy, but due to medical reasons and doctor’s orders at ringside Hardy had to sit out the finale of the match –but Hardy beating Sabu would be absolutely huge for him beyond any match he has had in Extreme Rising. Hardy better be on the top of his game and be prepared to do anything he must to beat Sabu –he better be ready to go places he never went before. There is absolutely no doubt that fans will not let Hardy off easy win or lose. If Hardy can go toe to toe with Sabu he will be one step closer to fulfilling his goal to be truly extreme. If Hardy loses the fans still may crap on him to see him beat their legend. If Hardy gives all he has from the bottom of his gut and leaves nothing in the dressing room or ring, the fans may turn and give credit where it’s due. Just beating Sabu does not accomplish that. The fans expect Sabu to win, and after his loss at “Remember November” to Devon Storm that knocked him out of the title tournament, Sabu is looking to redeem himself in the fans eyes.
